Like all good ideas, we’re not the first to recognize the role that social media can or should play in the Olympics. The following video is a group of folks, in Vancouver, talking about the need for the Olympics to expand the use of social media at the Olympic games.

Well, after countless beers, a bunch of iChat meetings and lots of notes scribbled on napkins, our pipedream approach for covering the Vancouver games is live and out in the world. It only took one solid all-nighter after we finalized the idea to get it up on the web, thanks to the hard work of @PowerSurf and @JoeyBaker.
